French Country

This whole-home renovation was intentionally crafted to embody the characteristics and history of a medieval French Normandy home on a lush 12 acre lakefront property, with modern 21st-century function. Construction occurred as it would have sprung up over generations: from the humble foundations, the “granary” would have become a part of the home, then other expansions would have happened decades later, with the elements found around the property.
With the interior design, I aligned every choice with this storied narrative and French Normandy charm. The Louis XV style furnishings are soft and stately, with sumptuous curved edges, luxurious fabrics, and rich details. Other pieces are carefully sourced antiques, lending real age to the look. At Christmastime, the home comes to life with gorgeous, fresh garland and elegant ribbon draped over every surface. The warm glow and smell of hot cider from within the home invite family and guests to slow down and savor the joy-filled season.
